The 3 steps to experience love

If relationship with others can not give me love that is permanent then I need to work on the other sources of love, having relationship with God and with the self.

To have a relationship with God, firstly we need to know and secondly we need to believe in Him.

Everyone of us might know God. At least religion has taught us this. We could understand God quite quickly. It doesn’t take time. Perhaps we also believe in Him. It is also very easy.

But that is not enough. To know and to believe is not enough. It doesn’t guarantee you to experience a relationship with Him. It doesn’t guarantee you to experience love from Him. The process of knowing and believing takes place in our head. It is very often so theoritical. God as a concept. While to experience love is practical. The feeling is real. God is not a concept. He is a Spiritual Being like us.

So the third step is to experience Him in a relationship. This step probably takes a long time. It requires so much patience.

How to really have this feeling of love? Put what you have understood about Him into your practical life, on your day-to-day basis. Keep experimenting on this. Only through an experiment by experiment you can really experience God’s love. Challenge yourself by asking provocative questions on what you have understood about God, what you have believed in Him. Reflect those questions again and again.

Once you taste His love, it is fulfilling your heart’s desire for love. There is no better love than this love.

When you taste this true love, your search for temporary love from human being will end. You won’t depend on anyone for givibg you love. When you are in relationship with anyone, you are not seeking love but giving love.

Listening to God

I was discussing with a friend for an online workshop we were going to have. We worked on the topic on fear. I was the one who would deliver the topic and he would become the MC for the program. We discussed on how to deal with fear. We had a few tips for this and one of the tips was to listen to God. My friend said ‘We need to be silent to listen to God.’ This words struck me so deeply.

What do we do when we are praying? We are speaking to God. We are telling God. We tell God to do one thing or another for us, to fulfill our desire, to agree with us, to support us, to manifest our dreams etc etc. We want Him to listen to our prayer. And what do we do then? Our prayers have become full of our wants and needs. When our mind is full of desires, it is definitely not silent. It is very busy. So we can not listen. We even do not give a chance to God to response to our prayer. I think God knows what we need and desire. He also knows what is best for us, but we are too busy with our own stuff thinking as if we knew everything. God knows everything, even before we put it in our prayer, so it might be the time now we listen to Him more. Let Him tell us. Let Him give a response. For this let the mind silent.

We tell God our needs and wants in our prayer.

I don’t think it is a coincidence, that the words of LISTEN and SILENT have same letters.

God is not emotional

I think everyone agrees that suffering in this world is increasing day by day. In all levels – physical, emotional and mental levels. This pandemic has made the suffering even more and more real in front of us. Natural calamities – flood, fire, storms and earthquakes have also contributed to the suffering in the world. The five elements of nature have shown their fearsome faces. Conflict and wars are no less. There is no peace in the world nowadays.

If God is almighty, He can do everything He needs to do to stop this suffering in the world right now, our logic say. Why does God not finish all this suffering in the world with His mights? It is not a big thing for God to finish all of these. Why does He not do it? A friend asked me this question not long ago. We were in a discussion on this topic. It was an open discussion between two friends. Just two of us. Topic on God was not sensitive to be discussed for both of us. I said to him ‘I think God is not emotional nor sentimental like us.’

We need to understand God’s role and also His timing. God loves everyone, God can’t bear seeing anyone suffering. It is no doubt! God doesn’t stop the suffering, but He provides strength for us to take from Him so we can go through all of these situations and suffering more easily. All of these have to happen. What is meant to happen will happen and God will not interfere. He provides the strength we need. This is His role in this world, to help us. So take that strength from Him. Take the help from Him. Draw that strength into your soul and make yourself so powerful inside.

The next chapter

Everyone has these questions, “When will this coronavirus end? When does life become normal again?” Noone knows. Life has changed. Life ahead might never be the same again. Situation has become tough. We have to be ready for this. There is no other choice. We have to adapt ourselves to the changes. Stop complaining and start accepting. The faster you can accept the change, the easier you can adapt yourself. You might need to develop the power to tolerate within you. This is the power that will help you to go through this tough situation.

We are now living in the world of uncertainty. If life is like a book, then we are in a chapter of uncertainty, very chaotic. We need to develop hope in ourself that the next chapter will be a good one, a peaceful and harmonious life. Hope will work as the light for the soul.

You can trust the next chapter if you know the Author.

Faith and Success

We need to have faith in leading our daily life. Faith is not given. We need to develop and nurture faith. Faith has something to do with the intellect. Intellect is one of the faculty in the soul, the other faculties are mind and heart. Soul is subtle and spiritual. It is inside our heads. So developing and nurturing faith is another internal work that each one of us need to do.

Faith brings clarity in the intellect. Intellect is called the eye of the soul. It can see what is right and wrong very clearly. Faith makes you free from having doubt and confusion. A faithful intellect develops decision power. A decision can be made very quickly and accurately. When a decision is accurate, you are free from regret. You also have the power to execute the decision.

There are three kinds of faith that you might need to develop – faith in the self, faith in God and faith in life. Make time and do something to nurture your faith inside daily. It is said that faith leads to success in everything you do.

Who is God for you?

Who is God for you? A young boy of twelve years old has asked me this question. What would be your answer if you were asked this? The answers might be different for each one. I said God is my father, not my physical father but my spiritual father. Someone might say that God is the Lord, the Almighty, the Supreme Being. The answer would create a feeling in the heart. If you think that God is your father, there is a feeling of closeness, love, care etc. It might indicate a relationship with Him.

God serves the whole world. It is a very big job to serve the world. He can’t do it alone. He needs hands. He makes me into His companion in serving the world. He empowers me and enables me to make a change in this world. He is a loving and caring figure. What do you feel if you consider God as your father in this way? I asked that boy. And he said “I feel very good”.
