Four dimensions of energy

We need energy to live. Energy is created, energy is used and it is replenished. Each one of us has the capacity to do this everyday. It has to do with how we are using our body and soul during the day. Most activities we have during the day is using our energy. You might feel very exhausted in the evening after having a very busy day. Your energy gets drained. You need to rest or sleep, because it is how you will take your energy back, your physical energy.

There are four dimensions of energy :
1. Physical (the body) : sleep, nutrition, day time rest, exercise
2. Emotional : happy positive and uplifting emotional state
3. Mental : focusing on one thing and one thing only
4. Spiritual (meaning or purpose) : this is the why you are doing what you are doing

How will you replenish your emotional, mental and spiritual energies?

How to use wisdom

Only see the good side of everything to stay positive. Can you see the good side of everything? This is not using your physical eye, but your spiritual eye. This is the eye of the soul. How do you see situation or problem in your life? You use this eye, don’t you? Even if someone is physically blind, his eye of the soul is not blind, it is widely open. You see everything around you, everything in life with this eye, don’t you? To see the good side of everything means to see it through a wisdom.

You might have heard a very good advice or an elevating quote that touched your heart. Use it in your practical life. To use it means to put it right in front of your eye so you see the situation or the problem through it. You are not directly exposed to the situation or the problem. That wisdom will become like a breaker for you. It saves you from reacting unnecessarily. It saves you from regret or anger. It brings calmness and patience inside, and these are the strength of the soul. Someone with patience is a strong one.

Be happy not because everything is good, but because you can see the good side of everything.

Your inner kingdom

Each one of us is a king in our inner kingdom, inside our heads. In your inner kingdom, you have three ministers helping you. The three ministers are your mind, intellect and your heart. They are your ministers and you are the king. They should listen to you. They should be always under your control. Are they working well? Are you controlling your ministers? How do you know that you can control them or not?

Hold a meeting with them everyday. Really make time for this. This is to know their well-beings. You have to control them and never let any of them control you or do any mischievous thing. You are the king, you should always sit on your throne. This throne is your seat of self respect. The seat of your wise self. Only when you remain seated on this seat, your three ministers will listen to you and obey your commands.

How do you know that they are under controlled? Your mind will only think what you want it to think. Your intellect will only remember what you want it to remember and your heart will only feel what you want it to feel. You will not say “I don’t want to think about it, but my mind keeps thinking about it. It gets pulled easily.” “I want to forget it, but I can’t.” “I am not peaceful.” This is the language you speak when you can not control them.

Live your life

When I am conducting a workshop on journaling I always suggest everyone to write their thoughts and feelings honestly. You are writing for yourself. You are not writing to publish a book, so be honest. No one will judge you. You are your own judge. But I found that this is the hardest challenge for most people when start journaling. The emotion behind it is always fear – fear if anyone knows their feelings inside. Fear of being judged by others. There is so much insecurity inside. You might have experienced this. This fear is blocking you from expressing the true feelings. It doesn’t free you. It doesn’t liberate your soul.

We might have been living under people’s judgement for a long time. You have to free yourself from this thought. You are here to live your life not to live in other people’s judgement. People will always judge you for whatever you are doing or feeling anyway. You need to develop courage from within. The first courage is to see the true self without any mask. Once this courage is developed, those people’s judgement will not affect you. You are not influenced.

The two faces of ego

Ego is the enemy of everyone. It resides in each and every of us. We have to conquer this enemy. How to conquer it? We have to know it. Only when we know this enemy well, then we can conquer it.

Ego has two faces – the inferior I and the superior I.

When you hear the voice of “I am excluded” , “I am not valued”, “They don’t respect me“, “I am a victim”. This is the voice of the inferior I. Can you hear this voice? How often do you hear this voice? This is the voice that brings you down again and again. If you keep listening to this voice, you will become weak. You keep listening to this voice and then you start believing in it. What you believe will become your reality (what you feel). You start feeling isolated, small or weak. Can you stop this voice? Do not let this voice keep echoing in your head. You need power to stop it. This is the power of the soul that you need. Develop this power, so you will become victorious in your internal battle. You are in fact battling with yourself (your ego). Your enemy is not out there, but right here, inside you.

At other time you might also hear the voice “I know better”, “I am more experienced”, “They should listen to me”, this is the voice of the superior I.

Both are the ego. Both are false. Both make you fluctuate internally. The real you is not inferior nor superior. Nothing can pull you down. Remain seated on the seat of the real I. This is the seat of self respect. If you remain seated on this seat, you will experience yourself to be a master. A master of the self. You are the king. You are royal.

Faith in life

Recently I started hearing from people around me asking “When will this situation end?” They probably asked me out of frustration. This is something new. It never happened before, not in our parents’ time nor our grand parents’. No one knows when this pandemic will end. The scientists do not know. The leaders of countries do not know and I do not know either. I said to them “Only God knows.”

Everything that happens in the world and off the world is accurate. Small things or big things. Individually or collectively. Locally or globally. Everything that happens is what is meant to happen. To understand this is the first step to develop faith in life.

If this world is a huge stage of a drama and everyone of us is an actor upon it, each one of us plays our part perfectly. Each one of us has our own script to play. Everyone’s part is accurate and it is in the grand scenario of this unlimited drama. The pandemic is one of the scenes in this unlimited drama. It will end. Another scene will come. God is the director. He holds the secret of time. He has the whole script. He knows the next scene.

I then said to them “It is better to ask God, not me.”

Peace of Mind

You are your best friend and also your worst enemy.

There are two personalities inside us. The true ’I’ and the false ’I’. They are two different personalities. They are not silent. They keep speaking. Do you hear them speaking? The false ’I’ speaks louder than the true ’I’. You can easily hear it. It creates noise in your head. It speaks worries, uncertainties and doubts. The false ‘I’ creates fear and peacelessness. If you do not control it, it will create chaos in your mind. So you need to control it and make it quiet.

The true ’I’ speaks very gently and softly. Sometimes it is almost unheard. It speaks wisdom and truth. It creates calmness in your mind. If you want to experience peace of mind, you need to listen to the true ‘I’ more often. This is the first step to a peace of mind.

So which one is your best friend and which one is your worst enemy?

A Compliment

You might have heard an advice not to see the defect but see the speciality of everyone. To see mean to observe or to put your attention and energy to the object of your observation. Attention is the energy of the mind. Energy in us is limited. So we have to be careful in using it. Don’t waste the energy. Use it in a worth while way. To see the defect in others is to drain the energy. Usually after seeing, then followed by thinking and talking and reacting. In the form of thought, words and then action. In this three forms we are using our energy.

Very recently I was in a short course on productivity. It covered how to become productive with our time, attention, decision and energy. The facilitator was delivering the topic really well. For me to be a good facilitator is when he or she enables the participants to understand the topic being delivered easily. To make something complicated easier to be understood. Something theoritical practical. After the session I came up to him to give him a compliment. I said “You are such a passionate trainer.” This words are words of appreciation. When you give a compliment from your heart in fact you are giving very positive energy. Make it a habit. See the goodness in others and let them know. This will empower others. You never know how much your words will impact on that person positively. Always believe that whatever you are doing good will come back to you. Keep doing it to everyone around you. Keep empowering.

Developing faith in life

Why is it important to have faith in life? How to develop faith in life?
Life is what happens. Whatever happens, big or small, it happens to you or someone else, it has happened or it is still going to happen, all is called life. How do you see life of the past and how do you see life of the future? Do you always see it as a good one? Or do you sometimes think that it is unfair or that it should not happen the way it happened? How do you see the future? Does it always look bright? Or does sometimes worry creep into your heart that you are not so sure?

I remember an advice from one of my dear friends who kept saying to me ‘Everything is good’. Whatever happened was good, what is happening is good and what is going to happen will be good. Don’t carry any regret of the past. It passed. No need to think ‘why did it happen that way? It shouldn’t have happened etc etc’. This is how we usually develop regret. It belongs to the past. Leave it in the past. Don’t create fear of the future. Trust that life in the future will be good.

Whatever happens is what is meant to happen. There is no mistake in life. There is nothing to regret nor to be worried about. If you keep saying this to yourself or you keep reminding this to your self everyday, what would happen? You are developing faith in life. You will see everything with your new understanding. You will then accept everything that happen very easily. You will easily forgive and accept.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Faith and Success

We need to have faith in leading our daily life. Faith is not given. We need to develop and nurture faith. Faith has something to do with the intellect. Intellect is one of the faculty in the soul, the other faculties are mind and heart. Soul is subtle and spiritual. It is inside our heads. So developing and nurturing faith is another internal work that each one of us need to do.

Faith brings clarity in the intellect. Intellect is called the eye of the soul. It can see what is right and wrong very clearly. Faith makes you free from having doubt and confusion. A faithful intellect develops decision power. A decision can be made very quickly and accurately. When a decision is accurate, you are free from regret. You also have the power to execute the decision.

There are three kinds of faith that you might need to develop – faith in the self, faith in God and faith in life. Make time and do something to nurture your faith inside daily. It is said that faith leads to success in everything you do.
